Worksafe Vic brings charges over crane incident
Worksafe Victoria has charged construction company Alliance CG and Clark Cranes with two and three offences respectively following a September 2018 incident that resulted in the death of a 48 yo worker. The incident occurred when a concrete kibble fell from suspension killing the 48 year old and seriously injuring a man in his 20s. The constructors charges relate to working under a suspended load whilst the crane company stands accused of failing to ensure a split pin was safely inserted and general failure to ensure the safe installation of the machine. The case is due for hearing on 18th December in Melbourne Magistrates Court.
