Work commences on $89m Toorak Rd Level Crossing Removal
Works are underway on the $89m removal of the Toorak Rd Level Crossing. JV partners Laing O’Rourke, Jacobs and Metro have commenced construction of the elevated rail line and are due to deliver by mid-2021. The project has not been without protest from local residents who opposed the elevated rail design in favour of an underpass solution. Regardless, the intersection required action as it presented a major bottleneck and safety concern for commuters in the area. Major traffic delays can be expected during the construction with the first closure scheduled for 4-7th October for services realignment.
