Work back underway on Metro Tunnel

Despite failing to reach an agreement with the State Government regarding the reported cost blow-outs on the project, the Cross Yarra Partnership has returned to work this week after shutting down on Monday. The partnership, comprising of John Holland, Lendlease, Bouygues and Capella Capital, was trying to convince the government to cover the additional costs which have been estimated as high as $3Bn on top of the $11Bn project cost. The builders had threatened to walk away from the project altogether but the State Government has so far held its ground demanding that the project be delivered according to the contract signed.
