Western Sydney Airport
Engineering giant Bechtel will oversee construction of the $5.3 billion airport. It also won the bid to help with development work on the airport’s design.
WSA Co – the government-owned company building the airport – also announced Australian companies Lendlease and CPB have been awarded the early earthworks contract. The joint venture between will be in charge of moving about 1.8 million cubic metres of soil to start levelling the land. Work is due to commence by the end of the year.
It will also build access roads and drainage to allow major construction to begin in 2019.
