Warragamba Dam
The Warragamba Dam wall is to be increased in height by approximately 14 metres to allow for flood control releases. The downstream face of the existing dam wall is to be buttressed in mass concrete and the construction of a coffer dam is also required. Most of the construction will be within approximately 1km of the dam wall.
The current radial and drum gates will be replaced with slide gates or narrow spillway and the existing spillway will require modification for extreme flood events.
A high-level bridge will be constructed to all for operational access to the top of the raised dam.
