Thiess Locks in $2.5Bn 5-year Contract

CIMIC contractor Thiess has announced that it has been awarded a 5 year mining operations contract at Jellinbah Group’s Lake Vermont Coal Mine in Queensland. The contract is worth approx. $500m per annum ($2.5Bn total) to provide all equipment, operations and maintenance at the site. Additionally, the contract includes designs to develop autonomous services including drilling and dozer push operations. The extension commences from 1st January 2022 and runs until 2027.
