The rise and rise of printed homes

Printed homes are a reality – but there is still a way to go. There are many pilot projects testing out various materials and methods.
One thing they all have in common is that, compared to traditional home, they are amazingly cheap, less labour-intensive, use less materials and they have less draughts.
Currently, the favoured material is concrete, but that does not have a good eco-footprint. The most sustainable material available is mud. Current trials are building small houses, but as technology advances, so too will the size of the house.
