The race is on for Melbourne’s Airport Rail Link

The State Government has finally confirmed its plans for the long awaited Airport Rail link in Melbourne. The plans are for the link to run above ground through Sunshine and connect to the Metro tunnel network (currently under construction). With funding confirmed from both the State and Federal Governments, the project is now ready to move towards tendering. Construction is expected to start in 2022 with an eye to completion in 2029.
