Taronga Zoo African Savannah and Congo Forest

Partial demolition of current African Safari and Orangutan rainforest exhibits at Tarongo Zoo including removal of the 1940 Giraffe house and the back of the Zebra and Meerkat exhibits removal of Orangutan exhibition and turner house paths steps/ramps fences amenities kerbs and garden beds.
Construction of new exhibits for Giraffe Zebra Lion Ostrich Meerkat/Fennec Fox species including dens back of house spaces food preparation and equipment storage containment fencing and suitable landscaping.

New public viewing spaces and seating areas visitor and staff access paths.

Construction of anew Congo Forest exhibit to include Eastern Lowland Gorillas and Okapi including holding dens and back of house spaces food prep area and equipment store containment fences and suitable landscaping.

Further new visitor amenities (Cliff Edge Village) interpretive and directional signs. Relocation upgrade and addition to services as needed.
