Restrictions start to bite in Victoria

Stage 4 restrictions in Victoria have had a major impact on the construction sector with up to 13,000 jobs lost in the sector between July and August. Stage 4 includes rules such as: 25% of full workforce on major developments, a limit of 5 workers on small sites and limits on the number of sites visited by specialist trades. The industry is understandably concerned heading into the last quarter of 2020 with falling approvals, increasing delays and uncertainty around what rules will apply as the pandemic comes under control.
