QLD Miners Celebrating as State Government Funds Roll In

The mining industry in Queensland is celebrating Christmas in July early this year as the state government announces a number of multi-million dollar schemes to help the industry. Treasurer Jackie Trad today announced a $80m scheme to discount freight costs for miners. The budget pledge is in addition to previously announced projects including; $30m for a new freight terminal in Townsville and $350m to upgrade the Mt Isa rail line over the next 5 years.
