Optus Stadium announced the winner of the Australian Construction Achievement Award
The builder of Optus Stadium, Multiplex Constructions, has won an award for its work on WA’s new sporting coliseum.
Multiplex was last night announced as the 2018 winner of the Australian Construction Achievement Award by the Australian Constructors Association and Engineers Australia, the peak annual award in the Australian construction industry.
David Cruickshanks-Boyd, the chairman of the judging panel, said Perth’s new stadium was “a best-practice example of how the engineering and construction industry can deliver a truly wonderful community asset”.
Multiplex’s entry noted more than 150 subcontractors, consultants and suppliers were contracted to the project, with a workforce reaching over 1350 at its peak.
More than 4.2 million man-hours were worked, with no significant injuries and the project was completed three weeks ahead of schedule in November 2017.
