Northern Beaches Hospital
In December 2014 one of Australia’s leading private healthcare operators Healthscope was contracted by the NSW Government (State) to deliver the new Northern Beaches Hospital in Frenchs Forest Sydney.
With key partners CPB Contractors and BVN Architecture Healthscope will design build and operate the new hospital. Clinical support and non-clinical support services will be delivered for public and private patients.
The hospital is the first to be built on a greenfield site in Sydney in 20 years and more than 700 jobs will be created during the construction phase.
The modern nine-storey hospital will contain 488 beds 1400 car park spaces and a helipad. Healthscope will operate the entire hospital (public and private) for 20 years at which point the public portion will be handed back to the State. Healthscope will then continue to operate the private hospital for a further 20 years to a total of 40 years.
The total hospital project is valued at approximately $1 billion including $400 million in road upgrades that the State will complete before the hospital opens in late 2018.
