Multiplex Site Shutdown After Positive Test

A Multiplex site in Melbourne has been shutdown following a 12 positive COVID19 cases in the workforce. The ‘Beyonce’ tower project (otherwise known as Premier Tower) on Spencer St in Melbourne was shutdown on Friday with workers stood down until at least mid-next week. An Incolink testing bus attended the site testing all workers (including those asymtomatic) with all advised to return home and self-isolate.
The construction industry has, to date, been largely allowed to continue throughout the pandemic although with self-distancing and additional HSE/PPE requirements for workers. The Victorian State Government is expected to make an announcement on Sunday about additional lock-down measures to attempt to control the second wave hitting the state.
