Melbourne’s Nylex clock to get a revamp

Tenders have now been submitted for Stage 2 of the Caydon Property Group‘s redevelopment of one of Melbourne’s timeless icons, the Nylex clock.  Down by the Yarra River in Richmond, the area has been renamed The Malt District.  The project’s value is approximately $150 million and this Stage will consist of the construction of a new hotel and offices, incorporated into the silos that the clock sits above.

The clock will be removed during construction for restoration, and on completion will once again dominate the Melbourne skyline down by the river, as it has for so many years.
