Melbourne Park Redevelopment Stage 3.The main elements of stage three is the central precinct and include:
The Central Terrace which includes an elevated public space in the heart of the precinct connected by ramps to Garden Square & Upper Terrace
The Upper Terrace incl. a multipurpose 5000 seat Show Court Arena and match court
A new 1000 seat Function & Media Centre with function rooms pre-event spaces interview rooms a 200 seat auditorium & broadcasting studios
Broadcast Compound also for use as a carpark
A public Cafe
Completion of the separation between front-of-house public spaces and back of house functions
Central Logistics Hub including Central Kitchen & Central Loading Dock
Staff mustering – new staff mustering areas within the Rod Laver Arena ambit
Improvements to Southern Precinct entries incl. new entry/approach to eastern edge of the Oval and re-landscaping/reshaping of the Oval
North Match Courts – two new match courts in the north-west court ladder
Landscaping works to Garden Square & tie-ins to the new Function & Media Centre
Tie-in & works to existing tubular bridge to create a link to the new Central Terrace
Changes to the North Access Road to facilitate traffic & pedestrian pathways
Demolition works.
