Macquarie University Arts Precinct

Refurbishment of two buildings – one of nine storeys (W6A) and one of three storeys (W6B) and the construction of a new purpose-built museum of five storeys.
New entrance to W6B from Wallys Walk and the northern faced to be fitted with a dual skin glazed façade with integral solar shading. W6A to have a new core which will also aide vertical circulation and be the collaborative hub.
The new museum will accommodate the ancient cultures and modern history collections as well as a function/exhibition space fieldwork spaces and wet & dry teaching spaces. Provision will be made for academic uses.
A covered atrium will connect the museum with the existing buildings. Materials to be used include Brickwork walls granite and sandstone cladding glazed curtain wall/canopy polished concrete block aluminium louvres and ETFE cushion roof.
