Incidents Remind of Need for Workplace Safety

2 Incidents on construction sites in Melbourne today are a timely reminder that even as we focus on social-distancing and virus control, workplace safety is still a major concern. A worker suffered crush injuries to his leg when a mini-excavator rolled-over in South East Melbourne today whilst another worker was injured in a trench collapse in Northcote. Thankfully both workers survived and are expected to recover fully.

The incidents come shortly after new legislation made workplace manslaughter a jail able offence.
