Icon shaking up the mid-tiers with $50m project win

Icon is muscling in on Kane Constructions territory with a $50m project win to deliver Deakin University’s new student accommodation at its Waurn Ponds campus. The interest is unsurprising given that the student accommodation sector is running hot across the Eastern seaboard at the moment with numerous projects in all of the capital cities.

The project will include 32 x 10 bed dwellings along with associated shared services such as common rooms and admin areas.

The win will see Icon and Kane eyeing each other off on campus as Kane is currently delivering a new $23m building refurbishment and $14m research facility.
