EOI’s received for M80 Ring Road Upgrade Northern Sections

Expressions of Interest have been received for the completion of the remaining sections of the M80 Ring Road Upgrade.

The bidders for Design and Construction of The M80 Upgrade Northern Sections (between Sydney Road and Edgars Road, and Plenty Road and Greensborough Highway) are:

– CPB Contractors

– BMD/Decmil (JV)

The works will include extra lanes in each direction, cutting travel times for drivers.

An electronic freeway management system will also be installed featuring overhead electronic signs which will provide real-time information for drivers and help manage traffic flow.

Construction on the remaining sections of the M80 Ring Road is expected to begin in late 2018 for completion by late 2021.

When complete, the M80 Ring Road upgrade will provide more reliable connections to all major freeways and interstate links including the Hume Highway, Princes and West Gate Freeways and the future Western Distributor.
