Downer’s Reconophalt Receives NSW EPA Accreditation

Downer Group has confirmed that its Reconophalt asphalt alternative product has received accreditation from NSW EPA. The product uses a high content of recycled materials ranging from soft plastics, toner and printer cartridges to mixed aggregate collected in street sweeping activities. The testing of the product has shown that beyond its green-recycled credentials, the surface actually offers an increased lifespan of approx. 15% (3 years) along with a reduced pavement thickness.
