Downer awarded $165m Chichester Solar Farm

In welcome news for the renewables sector, Downer has announced that it has been awarded the $165m Chichester Solar Farm and associated works package by Alinta Energy. The project will see the farm constructed at FMG’s Chichester IO hub and includes ~60km in transmission lines to network Christmas Creek and Cloudbreak with the existing gas-fired power station and battery at Newman.

The EPC contract is due to commence works before the end of 2019 and be delivered in early 2021.
