Defence Awards $135m Shoalwater Bay Package

Works at the Shoalwater Bay Training Facility (80km North of Rockhampton, QLD) originally began in October 2019 but Defence has now released the next package of works. The successful bidder was a JV between Downer and FKG group with the two companies having a working history going back over 3-5 years. The $135m contract covers a range of works including: an urban operations training facility, campsite, field hospital, internal roads, airport remediation and beach landing infrastructure. The full scope of works are expected to be completed and operational by mid-2022.
