CPB wins $130m contract for dust mitigation fences in Pilbara

CIMIC Group’s CPB Contractors been selected by BHP to deliver its Wind Fences Project:

• Construction will be at Nelson Point and Finucane Island at Port Hedland
• The fences will abate dust emissions and prevent net increases over time
• The 30 metre high fences, which span a length of two kilometres
• Fences will be fabricated and built in Western Australia
• Construction expected to start in August 2022 and take 14 months to completion
• Up to 150 employees will be involved in the construction of the project, with up to 10 per cent Indigenous employment
• fences first of their kind in Australia
