Construction commenced on $16 million tavern, the start of an $11 billion master-planned community at Yarrabilba, Qld

Lendlease has started construction on a $16 million family-friendly tavern at Yarrabilba, Brisbane, as part of an $11 billion master-planned community Lendlease in planning for, consisting of a 100+ hectare mixed industry and business precinct and a town centre supporting 40,000 – 50,000 square metres of retail.
Owned by the McGuire Hotel Group, the tavern will offer dining spaces, family areas, a kids’ zone, dedicated sports bar, and large outdoor lounge as well facilities for meetings and functions including weddings catering for up to 80 guests.
Occupying a 4,000-square metre site in the heart of the community on the corner of Wongallan Drive and Shaw Street, the tavern will be adjacent to Coles shopping centre and represents a major addition to Yarrabilba’s first retail hub.
Construction work is expected to create employment for more than 100 tradespeople. Upon completion, the tavern will create more than 60 ongoing jobs.
Lendlease Development Director for Yarrabilba, Michelle Wooldridge said the new tavern will be a major milestone for our community and a fantastic destination for Yarrabilba residents and others from the surrounding areas to socialise, relax and connect.
“It’s perfectly aligned with our vision to make Yarrabilba a truly unique and self-contained community for people of all ages,” Wooldridge said.
