Bluescope Back On Track

In welcome news for the local building industry which has been sweating on disrupted supply chains and falling material stock, Bluescope Steel has announced that its China operations are back at full capacity. The AFR is today reporting that the company’s four factories located in Shanghai (x2), Tianjin and Xi’an have all returned to normal operations following the shutdowns imposed by the Chinese government in an attempt to contain the covid19 outbreak.
The news will be equally welcomed by the mining industry which has managed to (so far) avoid any material disruption to exports. Renewed operations and demand from China will settle many nerves as miners were mulling recent capital announcements regarding mine expansions and prospecting.
