BHP IO shipments resume after derailment
After the BHP IO derailment on 5th Nov, the company has announced that shipments have resumed as of Saturday 10th Nov. The train, comprising of 268 cars and 4 locomotives was deliberately derailed after the operator stepped off to inspect a potentially faulty car.
Some estimates in the media put the cost of the disruption at around $80m per day however the company claims the incident will not have a material impact on earnings.
