Audit of Construction Labour Firms Damning

An audit of construction labour firms has returned damning results with 80% breaching rules and 64% underpaying workers. The ABCC was critical of the firms and industry but stopped short of naming-and-shaming the culprits wanting to avoid jeopardizing repayment schemes. This on the back of the industry changes last year (2019) requiring all labour-hire firms to register with the government and adhere to a new industry code of conduct.
