The Building Communities consortium has been named by Homes Victoria as the preferred tenderer for the redevelopment of 3 housing precincts in Melbourne.  Homes Victoria is the new Victorian Government created to manage Victoria’s social housing system.

The consortium includes Icon Kajima, Tetris Capital, Citta Property Group and Community Housing (Victoria).

More than 1,100 new homes will be built over three locations in Melbourne (Flemington, Prahan and Brighton) and the consortium are responsible for all aspects of the project including financing the project, design, construction and operation of the precincts, including tenant and asset management.

The precincts will continue to be owned by the Director of Housing and will provide a much-needed affordable social, market rental and specialist disability accommodation for the people of Victoria.
