$49.5M UPGRADES ON NSW COUNTRY BRIDGES
New South Wales will invest in upgrading timber bridges to concrete in 34 locations, following round two of the $500 million Fixing Country Bridges program.
The work is designed to better withstand extreme weather events and protect supply chains.
The improvements will open up more efficient routes for heavy vehicles from freight to the local school bus and RFS tankers.
This will reduce operational costs, which will ultimately reduce costs at local supermarkets.
The outcome of all other eligible applications submitted in Round 2 of the Fixing Country Bridges Program is expected to be announced in late 2022.
