$235M CONTRACT FOR 700 APARTMENTS IN FOOTSCRAY

Sydney-based construction company Roberts Co won a $235 million contract for 700 build-to-rent apartments in Melbourne’s inner west in Footscray.

The project was originally tended as Probuild but subsequently has gone to Roberts Co.

The development will include:

  • 702 apartments
  • 275 carparking spaces
  • A gymnasium
  • Co-working space
  • Private dining, lounge and games area
  • A rooftop basketball court.

Roberts Co acquired much of Probuild’s liabilities when it took over the company’s five Melbourne projects, taking a sizeable chunk of the Victorian market.

At peak the site would employ about 300 people.

It is expected construction will begin in October 2022.
